'Fable II'

 

The Fable series successfully combines elements of classic children's literature and crude satire, on top of fluid real-time battle sequences and detailed personal character. The most engaging and incredible feature is how you begin to feel for your hero, because he is the sum of decisions that you make throughout the game and, often times, a dramatized, bad-ass reflection of who you secretly want to be. Fans of The Sims will drool over the human interaction and customizable clothes and appearance. Your character keeps his battle scars, and everything from the food you eat to the weapons you yield can mold his or her physique and morality. The signature trademark of Fable is the character development, as each choice you make, item you purchase (such as condoms) or enemy you kill can drastically affect the hero's personality and physical appearance -- and more importantly, the storyline of the game. The open world is 10 times larger than in the original, but game-play can sometimes slow to a quiet lull as you traverse the Fable medina looking for new action, and some of the tasks can be quite meticulous.
