"People who complain about there not being enough parking in Broad Ripple simply don’t get it. The idea is to walk around this pedestrian-friendly place and let things happen. And there’s no better opportunity to do that than the annual Broad Ripple Village Gallery Tour. This year the tour takes place Sept. 14 from 5-9 p.m. and includes such venues as The Bungalow, Chelsea’s, Editions Limited, Honeysuckle Home and Marigold. The galleries and shops are partnering with VSA Indiana, formerly known as Very Special Arts of Indiana, and offering limited edition VSA bowls in addition to their other wares. Proceeds from these sales and a cash contribution from the Gallery Tour Committee will go to support VSA programs.
Other shows of note on the tour include Elements of Exploration, a digital collage travel log from internationally recognized artist Peter Kitchell at Editions Limited and The Gardens of Delight, an exhibit of one-of-a-kind jewelry by award-winning artist Lydia Gerbig-Fast at Artifacts. Editions Limited is located at 838 E. 65th St.; Artifacts is at 6327 Guilford St.
New for this year’s tour will be a free Gallery Tour After Party at the Indianapolis Art Center featuring a performance by the avant-jazz duo iSwHAT?! from 8:45-10:30 p.m. Beer and wine will be available for purchase; www.indplsartcenter.org.
