Visual ArtStaff Report ‘Short Wave’ by Casey Roberts is part of ‘Blue Christmas: Jumpsuits, Velvet and King’ at the Harrison Center. The Harrison Center for the Arts (1505 N. Delaware St.) has been mixing media about as well as anybody for some time now and this year’s holiday season appears to have caught these creative folks in a particularly festive mood. Festive, that is, as in cool. On Friday, Dec. 3, 6-10 p.m., the Harrison will present another of its annual color-themed group shows, called Blue Christmas: Jumpsuits, Velvet and King. The show will feature blue palates of local artists, favorite Elvis holiday songs and classic velvet art. Guests will also be treated to blue eye shadow makeovers, blue plate specials on the reception table and blue light specials throughout the building. Then, at 9:30, the Harrison Underground will hold a benefit concert for Joy’s House hosted by The blackSoil Project and featuring bands Seven Degrees From Center, Loretta, Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band, Wolfy and Emory Salem. Admission to the music is only $7. Phone 514-6787 for information or go to www.harrisoncenter.org.
