"The Phoenix Theatre will host the return of one of Indy’s favorite comedy duos: Dos Fallopia. From trashy to très chic, trailer-park proud to disco drag, Seattle-based Lisa Koch and Peggy Platt satirize our soap-opera-and-celebrity-crazed society with song, dance and some of the worst puns ever heard.
Their newest show, Dos Fallopia: Desperate Spuddwives, sends up the Sunday prime time soap opera Desperate Housewives, as realized through the eyes of Euomi and Whynotta Spudd, a mother and daughter country music duo, with the assistance of various “Hysteria Lane” neighbors. The Spudds spontaneously burst into songs from their vast satiric repertoire as the plot thickens.
Desperate Spuddwives will be performed Aug. 2-26, Thursdays at 7 p.m., Fridays-Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $29 for those 25 and over, $15 for those 24 and under. (There will be no CheapSeats weekend.) For info and tickets: 317-635-PLAY, www.phoenixtheatre.org, 749 N. Park Ave.
