When Contemporary Art Speaks, the latest exhibition at the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art gallery, opens Nov. 12 from 6-9 p.m. The show explores direct interaction and communication between artists and their audiences. Participating artists are Stephanie Brooks, Harrell Fletcher, Kevin Hamilton, Adam Pendleton, Tomas Schmidt and Erwin Wurm. A variety of mediums will be on display, including vinyl wall installations, drawings and video. The show explores artists’ fascination with words as images and questions traditional notions regarding the viewer as spectator. On Saturday, Nov. 13 at noon, the artists will engage in a public conversation about the show. IMOCA is located at 340 N. Senate Ave. It is free and open to the public every Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information go to www.indymoca.org; 63-iMOCA.
