Grand Encounters is what the American Pianists Association is calling a new series of solo piano concerts. The first featured artist promises to be formidable: Andre Watts. An international star of the first magnitude, Watts has a considerable following here thanks to his passionate performances over the years with the Indianapolis Symphony. Here's a unique opportunity to experience his artistry in an intimate setting. Watts will perform at the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center at the University of Indianapolis on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $30-$150, and proceeds support the APA's classical and jazz pianists and free arts outreach programs in central Indiana schools, nursing homes and community centers.
