The Indiana Repertory Theatre's latest offering is a trilogy of love stories penned by Kurt Vonnegut for Ladies Home Journal and The Saturday Evening Post. Playwright Aaron Posner introduces a misfit troupe of community theater actors in the fictional town of North Crawford, who people these "true" stories of love. Rather than giving voice to the wryly satiric Vonnegut many Hoosiers are used to reading, the show illuminates the author's quirky and quaint views of love.
The charming company of seven expertly feed ftom each other's and the audience's energy, deftly creating a pack of peculiar residents. In particular, the short play titled Who Am I This Time? stands apart. It's a fast-paced account of two community actors (Matthew Brumlow and Liz Kimball) awkwardly falling for each other spirals hilariously out of control.
Bring your Valentine to this sweet meditation on love. You'll hold hands all night, steal a kiss at intermission, and leave thankful for all the kinds of love in your life.
