Storytelling Arts of Indiana offers annual fellowships to two Indiana artists. This year, Frank Basile Emerging Stories Fellowships were awarded to Deborah Asante and Cynthia Goodyear. Nov. 1, they will premiere their new stories.
Asante is an actress, writer, director and storyteller, and has dedicated her life to teaching and sharing the value of culture and heritage through the performing arts. Goodyear, a retired schoolteacher, has been working as a professional storyteller since 1992. She shares family stories in venues from schools to assisted living facilities, hoping to inspire others to preserve their own life stories orally.
The performance is at 7:30 p.m. at the Indiana History Center, 450 W. Ohio St. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Call 317-232-1882 or visit www.storytellingarts.org.
