The Phoenix Theatre will kick off the new year with the Indiana premiere of Richard Strand’s Ten Percent of Molly Snyder (Marta Solano) in the Frank & Katrina Basile Theatre Jan. 4-28. As an added attraction, the production will be performed in Spanish Jan. 18, 19, 27 and 28.
Ten Percent of Molly Snyder is the story of Molly (Marta Solano in the Spanish-language version), an unassuming visual artist who receives her new driver’s license in the mail one day and discovers that the address is wrong — two numbers have been transposed. She goes to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles to correct the problem, and knows she is in trouble when the administrator tells her, “It would be easier just to move to the other address.” Molly has taken the first step on a journey through a mind-numbing but hilarious world of misguided middle managers.
Ten Percent of Molly Snyder (Marta Solano) performances are Thursdays at 7 p.m., Fridays-Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 for those 25 and over, $15 for those 24 and under. During CheapSeats week, Jan. 4-7, all tickets are just $15. For reservations, call the Phoenix at 317-635-PLAY, www.phoenixtheatre.org.
