Review: 'Animals out of Paper'

3 stars

Marian Underground: 317 New Jersey. Two teens kidnap a tycoon's beloved teddy bear to extort the hundreds of thousands of dollars they need to graduate from college debt-free. Things go awry when they're followed by the man's daughter, who has anticipated her own kidnapping in the same way other girls dream of mall shopping sprees. To say that a highlight of this Brebeuf High School production is the actresses' incredibly silky hair is not an insult. Though their teacher-director co-wrote Hostage, the middle class teen comedy feels authentic, down to the girls' pricey haircuts, skinny jeans and tenuously sung pop ballads.
