Briana Hansen; Chicago
This one-woman series of sketches has a misleading name; it
is not a memoir at all, and has no feminist undertones. Briana Hansen has a
well-rounded arsenal of excellent improv, decent sociopolitical satire, pretty
good pop-culture bashing and the best crowd interaction I have seen in a very
long time. She is impossible not to like, with an engaging, fast-paced comedic
style and positive motifs. A couple of her characters fell short of others, but
she has a wealth of charismatic confidence on stage — and in the crowd
— that inspires trust and eagerness in her audience.
