Fringe review: Andrea Merlyn's Book of Secrets

A Sandcastle in the Sky

Albert Powell, Theatre of the People [TOP], Bloomington, IN

3 stars

Speaking in point-counterpoint, a succession of

"authorities" is at odds with "the situation" of Miss Jane and Mr. Joe, who is

"trespassing." Is it legalese gobbledygook about property lines, which one

"owns" and "owned" and what's at stake? Or, is it a serious matter of

principles/principals clashing in this commedia del arte take on current events

that have been current since creation? Colonialism becomes a way of life in the

hands of four skilled actors traversing universal territory in a very private

"situation." Edgy.
