'Flapadoodle and bull'

In a special event sponsored by Storytelling Arts of Indiana, five-time champion of the West Virginia Liars Contest Bil Lepp will present his comedic collection of original monologues, Punching the Lard: True Stories and Tall Tales, Feb. 16, 8 p.m.

While Lepp refers to Punching the Lard as “a mostly humorous, mostly autobiographical account about growing up, working various jobs and traveling the world,” Duke Divinity Magazine calls his stories “awe inspiring cathedrals of flapdoddle and bull.” At the start, Lepp’s stories appear to be autobiographical, but as they continue, the stories become more and more outrageous.

The event will be held at the Indiana History Center, 450 W. Ohio St. Tickets are $18 in advance or $21 at the door. To order tickets or for more information, call 317-232-1882 or go to www.storytellingarts.org.
