Visual Arts
The exhibitions are lovely reminders that artmaking transcends differences, and in many cases, bridges them. The exhibition of 60 prints and paintings by faculty from the Shandong College of Arts -- "Art, Harmony and Nature: From the Land of Confucius" -- is, on the whole, flawless. "Outside Looking In: Paintings by Becky Fehsenfeld" is equally accomplished and similarly traditional in its bearing. Throough Aug. 23. --Julianna Thibodeaux

Visual Arts
Leviton, 82, has been producing gestural sketches from life for over 40 years. Sitting in lectures or meetings at the IMA where she was a long-time docent, one of her primary topics became the backs of people’s heads, their feet and chairs. Her sometimes comedic little glimpses at her surroundings she turned into prints, etchings, silkscreens and monoprints with hand-colored detail. Through July 23.
