about me
Steal This Release! is a promotions, booking and photography company for independant bands all over the US. I (nikki) personally have been involved with the local music scene in Indiana since 1998. First starting off just going to local shows at the Emerson. Then in the year 2001 I began working with Indianapolismusic.net taking pictures at the first round of Battle of the Bands at the Patio. I did do a couple of intereviews and columns for the site. In that same year I started my own promotions and concert booking company called "Steal This Record Promotions". Severeal bands that I worked with and I began the Indianapolis Music Group which did a lot of all ages shows at the Festivilla, The Emerson, and Rehearsal Studios. Some of the shows that we did were "Funk the Turkey", and "Puddin Fest" which were highly acclaimed from Nuvo, Indianapolis Star, Clear Channel, and Indianapolismusic.net. I personally have booked shows at Tailgators, Rehearsal Studios, Birdys, The Festivilla, The Emerson, and The Volcano Room. With the fall of the Indianapolis Music Group I started working at Ticketmaster as a ticketing coordinator and Clear Channel doing small promotions. From working at these jobs I got to meet a lot of very important people in the music business. Including David from Korn, Billy Corgan, Good Charlotte, Jimmy Eat World, Godsmack, Spineshank, 311, Savage Garden, The Strokes, You're Pretty, Deftones, A&R reps from Roadrunner and Capital among many many others. I was also doing some interning at the Pop Machine thanks to Marc and Eric Johnson whom took me under their wing. After about two years off due to some personal endeavors I have decided to start promotions and booking again. With a slight name change and the help of several people in the scene I have started doing shows once a month at Locals Only. I intern with Jeff Sample out at Birdys. Learning the ropes on booking shows and helping out the best that I can. I mange a band out of Portage Indiana called The Dead Letter Insignia, and do promotions and booking for a band called The Future. Hopefully I will be working with Marc and Eric Johnson again soon.Music
