***Here's the PLACE 2 Find out EVERYTHING about me/going on in my life.***

In the midst of musical clones, originality in the Rap Game is very hard to come by. It is very rare to find that new sound in Hip-Hop, now-a-days, where the talent is unquestionable, the skill is uncanny, and where success is inevitable. In such a sly business where 15 minutes of fame, for the most part, last no longer than 15 seconds, longevity is unheard of. But imagine an elixir of both originality and longevity embedded into an artist with undeniable potential. To be charismatic in every category relative to music is not normal, but neither is the artist! It is my privilege to introduce the World Wide Web to Sanova.

Born Marcus Brock in Belzoni, Mississippi on Dec. 1, 1982, Sanova was not influenced musically at a young age. His childhood years were irrelative to music. When Sanova was about 9 years old, along with his mother, he moved to St. Louis, where his mother met his father and had his little sister. A year later, the family moved to River Forest, Illinois, until the family got "on their feet", which took a couple months. Once financially stable, the family rented a house in Bellwood, Illinois. The family lived there for 6 years. Just Long enough for Marcus to finish elementary school at McKinley Elementary. Then the family moved again (due to religious reasons). Nova's father and mother "split" up for a short period of time, spliting up the family and living situation. While Nova's mom stayed with her sister in Bellwood, Nova's father got himself a studio apartment in Forest Park, Illinois. While living in Forest Park with his father, Nova attended Forest Park Middle School for his 7th and 8th grade years. Once He graduated from elementary, He attended Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois.

Sanova's mom had gotten "saved" at the Apostlic Faith Church on the southside of Chicago, one day, so alot of things "changed". The family got back together. The family started going to church. During his teenage years, Sanova, artistically began to birth. At first, he had no idea what his future goals and dreams in life were going to be. It was not until one day at a church concert, at the age of fourteen, where he was offered the opportunity to do Christian rap, that he considered music as, remotely, interesting. After joining the church rap group W.I.C. (Warriors In Christ), he pursued perfecting himself. Unfortunately, due to outside influences, most of W.I.C. broke up, but Sanova (known back then as Mighty Mark) continued performing. Eventually W.I.C. died off, but not the spirit of Sanova. He had invested too much time into music now for it to just abandon him. Little did he know, his ambition later on in time, would kindle a flame in him that would translate to music, which would be his scapegoat during hard times.

Although Nova's father had a steady job with good pay, working downtown as a security guard, finances where KILLING the family. Ultimately the family became "homeless". Moving from shelters to, finally, a Motel 6, in Villa Park, Illinois behind Nova's High school (Willowbrook High School, where he attended his sophomore year). Eventually things started to look up for the family. They got an apartment in Justice, Illinois (which ironically Nova didn't want to move to, because he was finally adjusting to life in Villa Park, making new friends, etc. - Later on in the story, you'll find out that the place where he didn't want to move to would "Embrace him" with open arms.)

So the family moved to Justice, Illinois (where Nova attended his junior and senior year at Argo Community High School in Summit/Argo, Illinois). At first, Nova hated Justice, Illinois! He would avoid attending classes at school. He would do whatever he could to make it KNOWN to his mother that he hated having to constantly move. But eventually the small town started to grow on him. While in the process of his "adjusting", he started to really get into rap and hip hop. He would spend countless hours in his room, just writing and make beats on his playstation (Music Generator 1). There were times he would even miss dinner. Believe it or not, it even got to the point where his mom would tell him to stop making music. But the more his mom told him to stop, the more he continued to perfect his craft.

"Buzz" started to ciculate around the small town (Justice) and on the outskirts (such as Hickory Hills, Palos Hills, Berwyn, Burbank, basically the whole south-west surburbs). As time went by, his "buzz" spreaded out as far as Naperville, Boilingbrook, and Woodsmoke, Illinois. Towards his senior year at Argo, his parents started to question him about what he was going to do in his future. Was he going to college? If so, which one? Was he going to join the military? etc. At that time, he was trying to balance out working at Ups in Hodgkins and graduating high school. But as his grades started to slip, he questioned was his job worth, possibly, his education. Considering the fact that his education was more important, he quit his job, which PISSED off his parents and ultimately created/escalated problems at "home". So as his graduation days came to pass, he became even more "1 with his music", since the fact he really couldn't "talk" to anyone about his problems, without a sense of LOST OF PRIDE. (I, honestly, think that my PRIDE was both the cause and effect of so many of my future problems to come.) By jotting his emotions and life experiences down on paper, he felt more at ease and reassured that he would overcome his trials and tribulations. Call it reality or Fantasy, but NO ONE could remove him from his state of mind, once he was in his own world. But eventually reality hit him! IT HIT HIM HARD TOO! Either he do something with his situation or his parents would deny him the right to live at home! So he did just that. It was either go to school or join the army. He decided go to school. Although it was a postive step, future-wise, he only did it to please his parents, which IS NEVER THE BEST ROUTE TO GO, because in the end, you're NOT happy.

But anyways...

So he attended College at Northwestern Business College in Hickory Hills, Illinois, where he majored in Enterpreneurship in Business. Unfortunately, in the end, he felt college wasn't for him. (Although a major reason that he dropped out of College was because his grades weren't looking too good, the main reason was (in his opinion) he was spending too much $ to learn NOTHING. He had already taken out a loan, which he had to pay for himself. On top of that he had no job.) So he "dropped out". He pulled a "Kanye West", which REALLY added "fuel to the fire" when it came to his parents. The house, obviously, became a "disfunctional" one. Nova found himself "homeless", on the streets with no place to go.

And so begins, his years as a nomad....

Although Nova was hired at FEDEX, following the "College drop out" period, his employment was very brief there, which he doesn't really consider as employment, when he's feeling out job applications. BUT what he does remember is the long dark cold nights where he had to walk miles to work down Harlem in work boots, where the sole of his shoes were wore-down, nearly gone. From 88th street to Harlem Ave., he walked EVERY NIGHT. During grave yard shift, while unloading trailers, he would fall asleep in his cold trailers, out of exhaustion. Even when he got off, from work, most of the time, he had to walk back!!! - Now tell me that's not dedication -lol

But anyways...

Nova's living situation was FUCKED! (to be blunt with it). There were cold winter nights where he slept in front of doorways and picnic tables (in Justice Park). His life was everything, BUT a "picnic". To put it shortly, He redefined/redefines a "Nomad". He's lived EVERYWHERE. From in the back of 1 of his Ex's parent's Sterling Estates Trailer Park trailer to in a drug house in the Trailer Park, until the cops raided it. There is literally not enough room to jot down ALL the adversaties Nova's faced. (Besides I'm trying to keep the reader's attention, not blab on about self - experiences).

Hopefully by the time you read this, depression hasn't gotten the best of me/poverty hasn't "killed my spirit". To be REAL with you, I'm still "STRUGGLING" to make a "household name" for myself. I'm still "On the Grind" slinging my music, like it's crack/weed. Although the "supply and demand" is growing, (right of this moment 8 - 2 -04) I have 3 weeks to make something happen with this rapping, or it's back to "square 1". ....You know what? FUCK THAT! I've payed my dues (Oh Believe Me!)

....The date is 12 - 15 - 04. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way to this point. About two and a half months ago, I moved from living with my ex in Forest Park. (Thankx Babe for EVERYTHING! I still got love for you, by the way) Fate has it. I moved to a small town called Whiting, Indiana, where I first stayed with Slim, along with Yungstar. Moving from place to place, while in the process of gaining more "confidence". This is the town where I got all the neccessary hook ups to make "it" happen (business-wise). Though unemployed, mornings I would go to DTS INTERNATIONAL (thankx Jon) and work on my websites, webpages, etc. In the afternoon, I would go and chill at DESIRED ART. (What's up Damien, Rooster, Roger, Koz, and Joe?). Sometimes I would chill at Peggy's. (Thanks alot for EVEYTHING), then I would go to "my resting place" (which was Chris's front porch, where I would stuff blankets under the door to keep warm, while wrapping up in cold quilts) - THANKX FOR EVERYTHING to the "Midkiff" family. I would still be sleeping, by the lake (out in the cold), if it wasn't for you guys opening up your doors for me. Eventually time went on and there was a lack of "powerhouse support" in Whiting, due mainly to the fact that Whiting, Indiana is such a small town, so I moved.

...The date is 2 - 11 - 05, I've moved from Whiting, Indiana (onto Bloomington, Indiana.)I've been in "B-town" for a month now. I got a WONDERFUL girl. (thankx for EVERYTHING TIFF - "Love ya longtime") Hopefully out here (in such a college town) i'll get the neccessary exposure that I need. I've been dropping off Applebooty, No Shhh Sherlock, and Momentum at radio stations left and right, from B-town to Indianaplois. Things are going pretty good. I got a "fresh start", plus a renewed spirit. The people here are very open to hearing my music. Despite I've gone from sleeping at my girlfriend's brother apartment (THANKS TRENT) to juggling staying at the library to "the Union" to finding possible shelters in B-town, AT LEAST I (currently) got a roof over my head, right? I've been through alot of personal things in the '05. Life-altering kind of situations. As you get older and go through sh*t, you realize your OWN FAULTS, rather than be quick to "jump the gun" and try to blame others. To my parents, I'm sorry for being so "hard-headed". May God mend our relationship(s). I love you little sister. You inspire me, so much. And oh...To my biological father, I guess i'll see you in court, homey. (Always remember what goes around, comes back around. 10 times worse.) Thankx Ishea for making me realize things and putting me in check. (You know what I mean). Thankx auntie for all the help on the photography. Love goes out To ALL MY EXTENDED FAMILY and friends who have supported me, so far. To those critics and skeptics, KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO BEST...Giving me more "material" to work with. (If you know what I mean).

At the present moment, my "myspace.com" world is BLOWING UP. I'm now being recognized both nationally and internationally-wise. Thanks Tom. If it wasn't for myspace.com, I don't think that i would have developed such a SOLID following, so rapidly. I'm working on BIG THINGS now-a-days. I've matured alot (in my opinion). But not to get off subject, i'm networking with a few artist through myspace.com to get that "buzz" developed in their "neck-of-the-woods". As far as projects, I'm working on my "TRUE DEBUTED" Album called UNDEFINED (BOOK II), which is a double disc presequel album. Thanks Rev. for the artwork on the album cover. Good looking out for "hooking" me up on everything and letting me get in "DA BOOF". What up YUNGSTAR, by the way? EVEN THOUGH I'VE LEFT the Chi (for the moment) - I'm not abandoning my "homies", only making things better in the very long run. "Longevity" is the key. But back to the subject matter...I'm currently working on 2 mixtapes. I'm working on a DVD too, courtesy of G.J. Thanks for shooting my music videos, by the way and dealing with my very artistic vision of my music videos. I'm also working on 2 New websites (Sanovaworld.com and Sanovalounge.com). Thankx Jon for everything! And last, but not least, I'm co - creating a clothing line called "Sanova Scotia". (My partner is Christopher Midkiff) I'm also working on a couple more projects, but i'll keep you posted as things develop.

WHAT HAPPENED TO ME IN 2005? - COMING SOON...

THE YEAR 2006 - (THE FUTURE) - coming soon...

Experiencing rejection, poverty, and day-to-day hardships only made "him" stronger lyrically, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Life brought Nova to Life, as much as Nova brings music to life. His artistic ability to twist metaphors and emphasize words in the English vocabulary leaves me much reason to believe he is, truly, something special that the music world should look out for. Though his track record and resume is brief, at least for the time being, his potential charisma with music may exceed critics expectations of him. Only time can be the judge of Nova.
