Two stars (R)
The first film directed by Francis Ford Coppola in nearly a decade is a murky tale, set on the eve of WWII, of a 70-year-old linguistics professor (Tim Roth) who gets struck by lightning and becomes young again. On the run from the Third Reich (they want his powers), he falls for a woman (Alexandra Maria Lara) who was also struck by lightning and suffers from post-traumatic-past-lives-syndrome. Intriguing for a while, until the confusion becomes tiresome. 125 minutes. DVD INFO: Includes a commentary track by Coppola, a making-of featurette and a look at the music choices for the film.
