• In remembrance of local hip-hop musician Joe McGuire, who recently passed away, the Ice Ultra Lounge will hold a concert Friday, Nov. 23 at 9 p.m., $5, for ages 21+, featuring Lameck Sevensky, 2 Sick and Griffo of Trip-7 Productions; AB and Hard Head of Beatz4Dayz; Jimmy G and D-Wood of Jussumfunc; Joey Cashflow and Grimy of New Aria; and guest D Suave.

• Support Prevent Blindness Indiana during an open mic night, part of the Indy Folk Series, at the Unitarian Universalist on Saturday, Nov. 24. Musicians can sign up at 6 p.m. The show starts at 7 p.m., $8, all-ages.

• Jazz-influenced pop artist Nellie McKay performs at the Music Mill on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 8:30 p.m., $20, ages 21+.

• The Blakes, an indie rock/pop band revered by “Pitchfork” magazine, evokes similar melodic catchiness as songs by The Who and The Kinks. Their free LUNA Music in-store event is The Blakes’ only tour date in this area. See them live at LUNA on 52nd and College Ave. on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 6 p.m. It’s free and open to all ages.
