• Prince put on a spectacular Super Bowl halftime show. In the short set, he managed to play three songs off of Purple Rain, a cover of “Proud Mary,” a portion of “All Along the Watchtower” and even a Foo Fighters song, “Best of You.”

• The Arctic Monkeys have confirmed details of their second LP. Favourite Worst Nightmare will be released April 23.

• Apple and the Beatles have finally settled their legal dispute over the use of the Apple name. This could pave the way for the Beatles to finally hit iTunes.

• Funk Brothers pianist Joe Hunter passed away at the age of 79. Spinners vocalist Billy Henderson also passed away at the age of 67 this weekend.

• Velvet Revolver is hard at work recording their second album, Libertad, in Los Angeles with producer Brendan O’Brien. The album is expected to be released in June.
