
• Two major tours announced Indy stops. John Mayer will play Verizon Wireless on June 26, and the Fray will play the Lawn at White River on June 19.
• Hippies will be sad to hear the news that Arthur Magazine is shutting down after five years.
• Gnarls Barkley has finished recording six songs for its second record.
• Melissa Etheridge won the Oscar for Best Original Song for “I Need to Wake Up,” which she wrote and recorded for An Inconvenient Truth.
• Liam Gallagher of Oasis was caught on video punching a photographer in the face while his 5-year-old son and wife watched.
• The New York Post has reported that Chris Cornell actually quit Audioslave because of financial issues. He wrote all the music by himself, and his three bandmates were taking an equal share of the publishing rights.
• With the Capitol and Virgin Records merger, it looks like some bands are going to get dropped, including Kevin Devine. Others that may soon follow: the Vines, the Dandy Warhols, The Shout Out Louds, Fischerspooner and Moby.
