• Casey Calvert, Hawthorne Heights’ guitar player, passed away in his sleep Friday night on the band’s tour bus.

• My Bloody Valentine will self-release their upcoming album digitally.

• The Cult’s Ian Astbury has stated that his band will be opening for Led Zeppelin next year on a full reunion tour.

• Snoop Dogg will release his next album, Ego Trippin, in March 2008.

• Paul McCartney has told Billboard that his next project will be recording with his son, James.

• Willie Nelson will appear in a TV ad supporting an anti-dog fighting bill.

• Weezer has confirmed the title of their upcoming LP is Tout Ensemble.

• The Wu-Tang Clan has announced an 11-date tour to support their upcoming record. Chicago is the closest stop.

• Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin and Shawn Colvin will perform with Buddy Miller at Clowes Memorial Hall on Jan. 18, 2008.

• Quiet Riot frontman Kevin DuBrow, 52, was recently found dead in his Las Vegas home.
