• Daughtry and Carrie Underwood were the big winners at this past weekend’s American Music Awards. Both American Idol alumni took home three awards.

• Kicking off his European tour in Paris, Kanye West broke down before performing “Hey Mama,” a song about his mom that was featured on one of his records. West’s mom passed away last week due to complications following cosmetic surgery.

• The White Stripes have confirmed they are collaborating with Beck and have hinted that a collaboration with Bob Dylan may be in the works.

• The Band of Horses turned down Wal-Mart to use one of their songs in an upcoming commercial. The band had allowed Wal-Mart to use the song in an Internet-only spot, but the backlash from their fans prompted them to pull the spot.

• Spoon will perform a New Year’s Eve show in Chicago at the Metro.

• Rumors are circulating that Radiohead is plotting a spring USA tour.

• Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire are embarking on a double headlining tour. They’ll stop Feb. 8 at Indy’s Conseco Fieldhouse.

• Pollstar has named The Police’s 2007 tour the biggest grossing tour of the year, taking in over $171 million.

• Rick Ross and Lupe Fiasco will both release their newest records Dec. 18.
