• One of the voices of the “Squidbillies” (see Adult Swim TV), Unknown Hinson, a self-proclaimed “rockabilly vampire,” will perform at Spin Nightclub for a free concert Saturday, Sept. 8 at 9 p.m., 21+. The eclectic performer’s cult following includes Hank Williams III. Opening for Hinson is The Super Secret Sideshow.

• Penrod brings blues musicians Gene Deer, Tony Cheesebourough, Dan Holmes, Craig Brenner and more to the Indianapolis Museum of Art for a live broadcast via host (and NUVO writer) Matthew Socey on WFYI 90.1 FM from noon-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8.

• On Tuesday, Sept. 11, remember those fallen during a memorial service and concert at the Rathskeller in Indianapolis. The America Remembers Memorial Event starts at 3 p.m. and includes a silent auction and a candlelit vigil. Performances by Chris Shaffer, Brenda Williams, Jennie DeVoe, Carl Storie, Zanna Doo, Benito DiBartoli and Jim Ryser start at 7 p.m.

• The Amiina concert at Radio Radio Thursday, Sept. 13 has been cancelled due to illness.
