It’s IMAF time!

This Saturday, June 10, the Harrison Center for the Arts will host its annual Independent Music + Arts Festival. Traditionally a showcase for up-and-coming artists, it’s also a street fair to rival any in the city.

This year, the outdoor stage will host music from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. While the complete lineup can be found at myspace.com/imaf, here’s some highlights from the evening schedule: 4:45 p.m., the Sea Krowns; 5:15 p.m., Alex Delivery; 5:45 p.m., Wolfy; 6:15 p.m., Puppy vs. Dyslexia; 6:45 p.m., The Freightliners; 7:15 p.m., Lord Fyre; 7:45 p.m., BigBig Car; 8:15 p.m., Everything, Now!; 8:45 p.m., More Animals of the Arctic; 9:15 p.m., Vulgar Boatmen.

An indoor stage will feature other artists, and the work of independent artisans will be displayed inside the Harrison Center, 1505 N. Delaware St.

In addition to the marathon of World Cup soccer at Radio Radio this month, there’s also some amazing music planned. On Saturday, the underground sensations Scream Club will perform. With a feminist manifesto similar to Le Tigre, Scream Club is a DIY phenomenon of epic proportions. With New Wave-y synth-pop sounds, smoke machines and amazing costumes, Scream Club has earned the praise of Yoko Ono, among others. The show starts at 9 p.m. and admission is $6.

Several industry speakers have been booked for this year’s Midwest Music Summit, which will take place Aug. 10-12. Participating will be Al Moss of Nashville, Tenn., and Columbia Records’ Maria Egan, among many others.

Hopefully, you’ve been saving up money for concerts this summer, because a whole slew of them are going on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m.: the Aug. 19 John Fogerty/Willie Nelson show at VWMC, the Aug. 4 Black Crowes show at The Lawn and the Aug. 4 Coheed and Cambria show at the Egyptian Room.
