There’s a brashness that can be heard in the songs on Cook’s latest release, the anthem “Sometimes It Takes Balls to Be A Woman” being a prime example. The smooth, sometimes folk/country feel of this album can be attributed to Cook’s songwriting and singing, as well as Rodney Crowell’s deft production.
