INDY'S WEEKLY ALTERNATIVE NEWSPAPER HIGHLIGHTING ARTS, ENTERTAINMENT AND SOCIAL JUSTICE

Movies about movies about ...

MovieTime Network announced today that they were going ahead with their plan to make a movie about how NBC is going to make a movie about Pfc. Jessica D. Lynch. Hal Judicious, a veteran producer and director whose last made-for-MovieTime Network film was based on the trials of Robert Blake, said that he has been tagged to helm the new film. "It"s a rich, rich story," Judicious said. "You"ve got a national hero, Pfc. Lynch, whose family has refused to allow her POW experience to be the subject of a made-for-TV movie. But NBC is going ahead with the story of her capture, incarceration and rescue anyway, making her a victim, hero and double victim all rolled into one. So, the MovieTime people came to me and said hey, let"s make a movie about that." In response to a question from a reporter on whether NBC had granted permission to MovieTime, Judicious replied, "I don"t think they have. I mean, after all, they"re going to be the villain in our film." Another reporter asked if Lynch had given permission to MovieTime to make a movie about the movie about her. "Absolutely not," Judicious answered. "We"re two dubs away from reality at this point. No permission required." Judicious said that he had been instructed to push production "to the max," and try and release the film before NBC"s film has a chance to air. "We"re having a software program write the script," Judicious explained. "Plus, many of the actors will be created by CGI. Nobody will notice, though." Judicious refused to comment on persistent rumors that another cable channel, MoreMoviesThanYouCanStand, has a project in the works to make a movie about MovieTime"s movie about NBC making a movie about Lynch, nor could anyone confirm that a making-of documentary was in the works for any of the aforementioned films.
