The 31st Midwest Writers Workshop will be held at the Ball State University Alumni Center, 2800 Bethel Ave., Muncie, July 29-31.

Faculty will include C. Michael Curtis, senior editor of The Atlantic Monthly; Elizabeth Cox, novelist, “Alive on the Page: Characters & Scenes”; Michael Martone, “Negotiating a Contract & Working with Agents”; Mary Ann O’Roark, roving editor of Guideposts; and Mark Shaw, “How to Become a Published Author or Poet: A to Z.”

Intensive sessions faculty will feature Barbara D’Amato, “Mystery Writing”; Layne Cameron, “Getting Started”; Eugene Gloria, “Poetry”; Michael Martone, “Fiction Writing”; Mary Ann O’Roark, “Inspirational Writing”; and April Pulley Sayre, “Children’s Writing.”

Workshop presenters will include Matthew Clemens, “Can the Doctor Help?”; Earl Conn, “It’s All in the Editing”; Jane Friedman, “Self-Promotion & Book Marketing”; Alan Garinger, “From Page to Workshop”; Wes Gehring, “Writing Biographies”; Dennis Hensley, “Time Management for Writers”; and Holly Miller, “When to Turn Pro.”
