‘On Passage’ by Robert Evans III, part of ‘Positive Acts’ at Big Car North
Big Car North will host a two-day exhibition, Positive Acts: Art, Awareness & Activism, June 23-24. The show features 20 local artists who are putting their talents to work in order to raise HIV/AIDS awareness and raise money for the new Damien Center. The artists have been invited to create a single work of art in any medium that explores the connection between HIV/AIDS and how activism in art can positively change the world around them.

The work will be offered for silent auction. Half of the proceeds will be returned to the artists, with the remainder being donated to the Damien Center in conjunction with the opening of their new facility. One piece will be selected for display as part of the Damien Center’s collection.

Featured artists include Amhed Ozsever, Carrie Hettle, Carrie S. Cooper, Zachary Lopez, Michelle Pemberton, MaryAnne Nguyen, Jim Walker, Kelly Beerbauer, Adrian Stanley, Todd Bracik, Stacey Holloway, Austin Pittman, Ventiko, Dane Sauer, Quincy Owens, Larry Endicott, Amanda Martin, Kenneth Rhem, Kipp Normand and Robert Evans III.
