• Nada Surf has been working on a new record. Rumor has it that Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie will make a guest appearance.

• U2 is in the studio with Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois.

• Ra Ra Riot drummer John Pike was found dead on the beach after going missing this weekend when he left a party.

Shine a Light, the new Rolling Stones documentary produced by Martin Scorcese will be released on Sep. 21.

• The upcoming White Stripes album was leaked this past week when a DJ on Chicago Radio Station Q101 played the album in its entirety.

• There is already some trouble on the Police reunion tour. Stewart Copeland called a recent show “unbelievably lame” and called Sting a “petulant pansy.”

MTV Unplugged is back. Mary J. Blige, John Mayer, Kenny Chesney, the Police and Bon Jovi all have scheduled dates on the show.

• Kanye West has moved up the release date of his third album, Graduation, to late August to avoid a sales war with 50 Cent.
