Bluegrass banjoist and singer Abigail Washburn performs a handful of songs, some sung in Chinese, with the help of her bandmates Ben Sollee, Casey Driessen, and banjo master Béla Fleck Sunday afternoon at Indy CD & Vinyl in Broad Ripple. The group topped the bluegrass music charts last week.

Nuvo Intern Jessica Larkins Graduates from High School

On May 31st, in the Ransburg Auditorium at the University of Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Metropolitan High School graduated. Among the 40 graduates was Jessica Larkins, a writing intern for Nuvo. With her friends, family, and daughter at her side, Jessica started a new chapter in her life.

Free Tibet Bike Ride to Bloomington 6/3/08

Free Tibet activists demonstrated on Monument Circle Tuesday morning, and two of the Dalai Lama's nephews, who are Indiana residents, began a two-day bike ride to Bloomington carrying the Tibet freedom torch. The torch was started in Olympia, Greece and has traveled through many countries. The final leg of its journey will be through Tibet and ending in Beijing, China in time for the summer Olympics.

Indiana Fever win in double overtime

Indiana Fever fans got exactly what they wanted to see — a strong performance by Candace Parker, and a win for the home team.
Parker scored six points in the final minute of the second overtime for the Los Angeles Sparks, but the Fever hung on for an 82-78 win Thursday night.

Douglas led the Fever with 25 points and tied a team record with her fourth-straight 20-point game. Ebony Hoffman had 10 points and 11 rebounds and Bernadette Ngoyisa added 14 points and nine rebounds for Indiana (3-1).
