Here.Grindhouse

I must say that I'm quick shocked that "Grindhouse" didn't do better at the box office. It opened at 4th and made less than $12 million (it cost $53 million.) Too bad. I was really expecting it to at least be #1. I guess it's unlikely that we'll get a sequel now.

Isn't it odd that sometimes you can have a lot more to say about a bad movie than you can a good one? My review of "Blades of Glory." I'll have another review in a few days when I review "Grindhouse."

Pardon my absence of late. I've been spending most of my time lately in make-believe land in my head. (I'm working on a novel.) But now I DO have an issue of substance to throw out there to consider.

So there's this survey that's making the rounds around the blogosphere. The subject: do conservative bloggers or liberal bloggers swear more?

The conclusion: liberal bloggers swear a lot more than conservatives. And thus, liberals swear more than conservatives. According to the survey liberal blogs swear EIGHTEEN TIMES AS OFTEN.

Or do they?

The facts:
1. Bush nominated a guy named Sam Fox for an ambassadorship to Belgium.
2. Senator John Kerry is on the committee that reviews that nomination.
3. In 2004 Fox gave $50,000 to the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" aka "the Swift Boat Liars," a group that spread vicious, thoroughly-debunked, Bush-and-McCain-denounced lies about Kerry's military service in Vietnam.
4. Fox gave the money to the Swift Boat Liars well after they began their smears, after it was made clear how disgusting they were, after the lies were debunked, and after several high-profile Republicans condemned them.

It must be one of the longest 15 minutes of Fox's life.

Let the fun begin.
