I feel for those of you still in Indianapolis. I am in sunny southern California, LA to be more specific. The weather here is sunny, in the 50's & 60's. People here are complaining about it being cold. I, on the other hand, am loving it. Anyway, enough small talk, on to the real reason I'm here. I am here for the USA Cycling Talent Pool. The talent pool is my last chance to get an in with USA Cycling.
In order to make the 2008 Olympic Cycling Team, I have to attend the Olympic Selection Camp. That seems pretty straight forward as many of you ask, "Are there trials, and when are they?". There are no Olympic Trials for Track Cycling, the Olympic Cycling Team is by coach and committee selection after the Olympic Selection Camp. The camp is May-June of 2008 in Los Angeles, California. The camp is by invite only, and they are only inviting those athletes who are in the Talent Pool. That brings me to why I am in sunny Los Angeles, California; to participate in the talent pool events with hopes of getting in the pool of athletes that USA Cycling will choose to represent them during international competitions.
