"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" quick movie review

What a disappointment. The long-awaited epic origin story of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) turns out to be just a series of increasingly tiresome fight scenes, mostly between Logan/Wolverine and his beastly brother Victor/Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber). Jackman and Schreiber are talented, charismatic performers and they do all they can with the crummy dialogue, but star-power can't make up for a screenplay that packs no punch. The parade of mutants aren't faintly as interesting as they should be, the special effects aren't special enough and director Gavin Hood (Tsotsi) seems clueless. A few interesting moments don't make up for the overwhelming dreariness of the movie. 107 minutes.
