World Cup Viewing Party at Lawrence Park

Soccer hooligans, check your shenanigans at the door. Indiana Soccer, and a cadre of other local entities, is hosting the Indiana State Cup and Challenge Cup finals, as well as a World Cup viewing party, at Lawrence Park on June 12 and 13.

According to Indiana Soccer, there'll be about 5,000 coaches, players, referees and spectators at the park. That's one big, family-friendly party.

June 12's activities kick off at 8:00 a.m., starting with the semifinal rounds of those Hoosier tournaments. At noon, the Radio Disney Road Crew will supply the crowd with games, prizes and music. And when 2:30 hits, break out the lawn chairs and take in the first game of the FIFA World Cup, USA vs. England.

The game will be played on a big screen, and at the half time, the entertainment includes an old school strongman by the name of Gavin Rulon.

On the 13th, the champions of the State and Challenge Cups will be crowned.

Admission is free. At least come and help figure out a cheer for USA Soccer.
