Works by Elaine Lindemann and Marie Reamer

Blue Egg Gallery

The Blue Egg Art Gallery, recently relocated to the Arts & Design District office suite on Carmel's Main Street, is run by its members as a co-op. While this gallery's dedicated to promoting the work of Indiana artists - a worthy enough goal - some of the art here might not catch your eye or seem particularly innovative. Chances are that other work will draw you in, however, so it's worth a visit. Marie Reamer's digital close-up photographs of the flowers in her backyard are so clear and beautiful that they almost render discussion pointless. But the standouts are two works by Elaine Lindemann that combine printing with painting. In "Renovation" (original monotype with transfer), you see a portrait of a contemplative woman in the foreground and a building in the background - perhaps serving as a metaphor - that needs to be renovated. "Esoterica," (original monotype) is more abstract in its portraiture but it also contains a strong narrative element. Show is ongoing; 317-536-4696,
