The Big Ten Women's Basketball Championships are on in Indianapolis!
At Bankers Life on Friday in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament the #10 Indiana Hoosiers squared off against the #7 Michigan Wolverines. Michigan started early with a 30- 8 run giving them a 32-15 lead and along with five players in double figures for the second time this year Michigan beat the Hoosiers 82-57.
It was a similar but different story with the Boilers as they were the team to beat ranked #4 and Iowa ranked #5.
Purdue had the first game off and the Hawkeyes whom had a just come off a good win the night before. The Hawkeyes having all five of their starters in double figures and having a 91.7 percent at the free throw line compared to the Boilers 86.7 percent at the line was key to the Hawkeye victory.
Other match-ups included Iowa State vs. Illinois and Ohio St. vs. Northwestern.

Coach Lin Dunn was honored for being inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, on the same night Indy Pride, Indiana Equality Action and the Indiana Fever celebrated Diversity Night at Banker's Fieldhouse. After seven seasons with the Fever, Dunn announced her retirement. The Fever thanked her for 7 great seasons by beating Seattle Storm 76 - 68.
