Wild Women: A Woman’s Passion is an exhibit at Irvington’s Studio School & Gallery featuring work from over 25 female artists from Indianapolis and the surrounding area. A variety of media are represented including collage, oils, acrylics, watercolor, steel sculpture, photography, poetry, music, ceramics, art glass and silver and natural gemstone jewelry.
The opening reception features live music, spoken word poetry and, of course, fine traditional and contemporary art for sale. Some of the featured artists are Kristin May, Barbara Kazanjian, Nancy Mcgann, Shelly Savini, Michel Leah aka The Raw Artist, Quay, Carol Jourdan, Shelly Jarvis, Marti Icenogle, Jan Flexon, Carol Cody, Miranda Marsico, Beth Ballard, Karena Velikan, Jennifer Kaye, Lynne Medsker, Becca White, Kristin Hubick, Sam Jones, Kelly Madden, Jennifer Deeter, Katherine Steeley, Genevieve, Lylanne Musselman, Teal Schlueter, Jen Creasey, Susan Vogt and Gina Pope-King.
The Studio School & Gallery is located at 5610 E. Washington St. in a new (and larger) space. It sits back from the street a bit so look closely. The opening is May 12 from 6-9 p.m. and is free.
