The University of Indianapolis and Southeast Neighborhood Development (SEND) collaborated to create the Wheeler Arts Community in Historic Fountain Square. The building offers live-and-work spaces for visual artists and their families and is a venue for theater performances and visual art exhibitions, in addition to programs and courses presented by the University of Indianapolis. The 60,000-square-foot building, once a vacant factory, has been completely renovated in a contemporary style that maximizes its industrial character.
