Voting for the second annual “Vocal Throwdown”
at the Indiana State Fair
is underway through July 20.
Nearly 80 contestants from around the state have submitted videos. People can vote for their favorites in each of the two divisions on the contest's Facebook page
The contest was open to any non-professional music performers ages 6-21. The Junior division consists of anyone from 6-15, while ages 16-21 are in the Senior division.
The voting began Monday and runs through July 20. The Top 10 vote-getters in each division will be invited to perform before a panel of judges on the state fair’s Subaru Main Street Stage
on Aug. 2.
Five contestants will be eliminated in each division, with the remaining five moving on to perform again on Aug. 9 when two division champions will be crowned.
The winners of each division will receive $500 and a trophy while second-place gets $250 and third receives $100.
