Video art opens at the IMA

Adaptation: Video Installation by Ben Ner, Herrera, Sullivan and Sussman & The Rufus Corporation opens May 8 at the Indianapolis Museum of Art in the Forefront Gallery. The exhibit examines the use of adaptation in the recent works of these artists, who have transformed source material to make their own adapted works of art, re-envisioning classic literature, film, ballet, e-mail and painting as new video installations.

An Artist Talk & Member Reception with Eve Sussman will be held May 21, 6:30 p.m. at The Toby. Sussman will share insights into her wide-ranging experiments in film and video. A reception will be held following the talk in the Pulliam Great Hall from 8-10 pm. with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Admission is free, but tickets are required

Adaptation will remain on view through Aug. 16 and is free to see. For more information, go to www.imamuseum.org.
