Honoring the dead of an unhonorable war

Veterans for Peace, Inc. Indiana Chapter 49 plans on creating a field of 3,500 flags representing 3,500 dead U.S. soldiers on the day that number is reached as a visual demonstration of the cost of the occupation of Iraq and a silent demand to end the war and bring our troops home. The field will be laid out first at Veterans Memorial Plaza, then it will be moved to a different location each week, with flags added to the field every time we reach another 100 milestone as a constant visual reminder of the cost of this war of choice.

You can help Veterans For Peace assemble this display by sponsoring one or more flags for this action by donating $5 per flag. VFP will adorn each flag with a black ribbon and a tag with the name of each sponsor (or designee). Send your checks to: IPJC VFP Flag Action, 609 E. 29th St., Indianapolis, IN 46205.
