"'Two Worlds, One Language' chock full of events"

The Indianapolis Art Center has made a habit of pushing the envelope of its creative mission to always include more. And more is what’s coming June 29, with the opening of a major international show, Two Worlds, One Language Through Art, an exhibition of more than 60 prints and paintings by master artists and faculty members from the Shandong College of Arts in the historic Chinese city of Ji’nan.

The show was instigated by local artist Becky Fehsenfeld, who will also open a one-woman show of her paintings, Outside Looking In. A world-traveler, Fehsenfeld’s work addresses cultures, landscapes, wildlife and figures.

The opening for these shows is free and will take place Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. It will feature performances and family art activities that will kick off almost two months of related special programs, lectures and workshops at the Art Center, some involving Chinese master artists. These programs will include presentations on “Oil Painting, Portrait and Sketch” on Monday at 3 p.m. and “Modern Art in China” on Monday at 7 p.m. For complete listings and information, go to www.IndplsArtCenter.org or call 317-255-2464. The Art Center is located at 67th Street and College Avenue.
