One and a half stars
Indiana Repertory Theatre; directed by Risa Brainin
I never read the book that this play is based on, so I can’t tell you how it compares. However, I found the play trite, full of feel-good patter that has been rehashed one way or another for decades. It’s unoriginal and long, even at only 90 minutes. Ryan Artzberger as Mitch and Jon Farris as Morrie don’t bring anything compelling to the material, either, portraying almost monotone characters with no depth. The entire show is as bland as the mush Morrie eats as his body deteriorates. Through Jan. 13; 317-635-5252.
