Tragedy at the state fair

An otherwise hugely

An otherwise hugely successful Indiana State Fair was marred on its last day when a group of children armed with rifles attacked the "Build a Stuffed Animal" workshop and opened fire. The armed children, who had just attended a workshop entitled "Teach The Little Ones to Hunt," grabbed the rifles and fled the tented area. The dozen or so individuals, all under the age of 10, ran amok, terrorizing fair goers by brandishing their rifles and shouting out garbled words that no one apparently could understand. The incident grew ugly when the small, short mob entered the "Build a Stuffed Animal" workshop tent and opened fire on all the stuffed animals. Billy Buster, 7, from Noblesville, told reporters that "I was just finished with my widdle Pookie bear when they kilt him!" The children who perpetrated the fracas have not as yet been apprehended. One State Fair official speculated that the children had "gone into the woods of Southern Indiana to forage for food and survive off the land." The official added, "It's ironic, given that that was part of the point of the 'Teach The Little Ones to Hunt' instruction: teach kids the value of nature." A spokesperson for the "Teach The Little Ones to Hunt" workshop issued this statement, "Words can not express the sadness we feel at this horrible, tragic event. Safeguards are already in place for next year's fair, where we also hope to instruct children in the use of cross-bows and numchucks."
