T.K. Nelson, Josh Rush and Emma Overman

T.K. Nelson Fine Art Gallery

Don't let the address confound you; 6331 N. Keystone (near Glendale Mall) is a perfectly fine location for an art gallery. For this debut opening, Nelson enlisted the help of Emma Overman. Her quirky animal characters have now jumped off her canvases, so to speak, and are entering into the realm of small-scale, polymer clay sculpture. This is the first Indy showing of Overman's sculptural work. Nelson also enlisted the help of Josh Rush whose oil on canvas paintings, such as "Bub's on the Monon, Carmel IN," draw their inspiration from everyday suburban scenes. The most imposing presence in the gallery space, a Banyan tree, is Nelson's creation. The inspiration that this versatile artist derived from working on this tree sculpture - which is large enough to allow him to house his office in the trunk - led him to branch out, as it were, and convert his studio into an art gallery. Through Nov 30; 317-490-0678.
