Excellent piece on the web with Indiana singer/songwriter Tim Jones, who is now finding success with the outstanding LA-based Americana band Truth & Salvage Co. What's gives the interview a unique twist is the author, Benjamin Opipari, has a Ph.D and in English Language and Literature, and is the writing instructor at Howrey, a DC based international law firm. Plus, he just loves rock and roll.

"You need only spend a few minutes talking to Tim Jones, one of the four songwriters in the band Truth and Salvage Co., to realize that he is a man without a generation," Opipari writes. "(We) learn his thoughts on pop songs, his plans after music, what it's like to work in a band with four songwriters, his favorite fiction and poetry writers—and what happens when he plays Hall and Oates on the piano."

It's a wide-ranging interview that maintains a focus on the craft and how-did-you-do-that aspect of writing songs. If you really like music and wonder how things work in a songwriter's brain, read on...
