Though Tim Cavanagh barely had any new material from his set a year ago, his sarcastically overly-friendly demeanor still makes him one of the most unique comedic performers on tour. When I saw him last year, he was one of the best acts I've seen at Crackers. He has brilliant crowd work and an unwavering devotion to the lovable, smiling, passive-aggressive character that he portrays on stage. He is like a suburban dad in his mid-40s, in debt up to his eyeballs, hosting a cookout for his wife's friends - passively making fun of them to their faces the entire time. Kind of like "Smilin' Bob" from those Enzyte commercials. This time he had less to work with from the crowd - a few obnoxious drunks - and I was disappointed in his recycled jokes, but his subtly disdainful character is hilarious.
