Birds, bees and BS. A new analysis shows that a federally funded and GOP-supported abstinence-only sex “education” program is providing American students with misinformation about sex on a national level. It’s frightening to think what myths our local students are learning these days.
Waiting on the water. Despite 250 people turning out to address the issue of the city’s water utility, the Lawrence City Council put off dealing with a controversial situation that has residents paying exorbitant rates. Not a wise choice.
Mickey the Multitasker. Michael “Mickey” Maurer says he won’t step down from his current posts as chairman of the National Bank of Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Business Journal when he takes his new position as president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. You’d think the task of attracting and retaining new businesses for Indiana would be a full-time job.
