Percolation. Starbucks coffee has contributed $15,000 to the city’s Great Ideas competition. The competition, which is intended to spark dynamic public art projects, has also received $20,000 from the arts-savvy Efroymson Fund. In a town where corporate support for the arts has lagged behind public funding and philanthropy, the Starbucks gift is significant.
Making it tougher to vote. Republicans, obviously bothered by increased voter turnout, have plans to introduce legislation that would require voters to present “proper identification” at the polls in elections that follow the pivotal one in November
Doing the right things for the animals. The FACE Spay/Neuter Clinic at 1505 Massachusetts Ave. in Indianapolis was recognized recently for its 50,000th low-cost sterilization.
