Strange bedfellows. When Beurt SerVaas and Bill Crawford, not to mention Joe Kernan and Mitch Daniels, agree on something you can say it amounts to an idea whose time has come. These are some of the people who are finding common ground regarding Mayor Peterson’s proposal to consolidate local government.
No longer under the radar. Public Access of Indianapolis deserves congratulations for its hard work on the Alternative Media Festival last week. Hopefully, more people will get behind this group’s efforts in the future and the festival can become an Indianapolis mainstay.
Better late than never. IPS is finally taking steps to conserve its extensive collection of original art works. Paintings by such masters as T.C. Steele, William Forsyth and Otto Stark can be found hanging in public school hallways around the city. They’re an invaluable legacy to the kids – or could be if properly cared for.
